I was very pleased today to receive the Proclamation from the Mayor recognizing the important work of Chris Morrissey, who passed away in 2024. Chris worked tirelessly for LGBTQ refugees helping them get to Canada in general and Vancouver in particular. The Proclamation recognises this work, and the contribution the community Chris helped to build,  has made to the city. As vice-chair of the City of Vancouver LGBTQ Advisory Board, I received the proclamation on behalf of the Board and will pass it on to Rainbow Refugees Society, an organisation Chris founded in 2000.
