The five Tarot cards that will help you overcome anxiety.
I am often asked if the Tarot can help my clients manage anxiety. This is a subject that is dependent on the particular client’s belief system, however there’s good reason to suppose that the following method could be used for everyone.
The first thing I’d advise is to think of the tarot cards as something of a lifeline. When things start to become overwhelming it’s a great idea to begin a daily ritual. Carve out ten minutes in your evening, or morning, routine to sit down and relax and draw five cards quietly. If you do tarot regularly then you’ll probably have an idea of the specific definitions of the cards, but don’t be afraid to interpret the results intuitively. If you don’t have a deck you may want to think about finding one.
For some people this is a process they’ll do after their breakfast, for others it’s on the morning commute, and for others it’s an evening ritual. However, commit yourself to a quiet moment and give yourself the space to relax. Then when you’re ready I suggest you draw five random cards.
Ask the following questions, drawing one card for each one:
What is the real source of my anxiety?
What stands between you and overcoming this anxiety?
What is my greatest strength?
What can I focus on to move past this?
How can I use my greatest strength to move past this?
Carry a note book with you and note your cards, and how you interpret them. Writing down the responses you receive are going to help you manage yourself, and help you organise your thoughts. I realise this does take a certain amount of self discipline, however you’re going to find it’s worth it.
This process allows you to have a conversation with yourself. Treat this dialogue as though someone were asking you for help. Of course, we have self-doubt and we struggle with some aspects of our life. That’s perfectly normal. But when we get overwhelmed it’s often because we’ve got too much going on in our life. Putting your thoughts down on paper in an organised way will relieve you of the burden of feeling it’s all coming at you at once.
Be sure to record your readings. It helps to look back on these later to remind yourself what some of the issues were and how you overcame them.
There’s no reason in the world why you shouldn’t move forward into a place of empowerment. All you need to do is trust yourself and keep moving forward.
